Emphasis on education, especially female
education has been a subject of vital discussion since ages.
And in every age, we have been a witness to radical steps
being undertaken to uplift the position of woman through
education in society that has certainly contributed in giving
woman the place that she deserves.
Realizing the need of educating girls in those
times i.e. around four decades ago, Guru Nanak Girls College
was set up to ensure a better future for the girls of Punjab.
Today, a dedicated and diligent team of 300 members, is
devoted whole heartedly and passionately and is working in
unison to educate the students-the future of the nation.
Ours is an institution that believes in the formation of an
individual as a ‘complete being’. To achieve
this, we concentrate on an education that draws out the best
in the student-Body, Mind and Spirit. We firmly believe that
the concept of education, other than thorough knowledge of
one’s specialized field, includes the harmonious development
of all aspects of human personality i.e. physical,
intellectual and spiritual development.
Our girls with the unique blend of all these
qualities create history in every field they venture into. The
Proof of this is visible in the myriad achievements that our
audacious students brought home this session. The girls of
GNGC, made us extremely proud by clinching 80 Top Ten
University positions. Out of which, five of our trailblazers
captured the coveted first University position in the streams
of M.Sc. I (Chemistry); M.Sc. II (Chemistry); M.Sc. II
(Physics); B.Sc. II (Bioinformatics) and PGDMC. The number of
merit positions is expected to spiral up, with the arrival of
PU Gazettes in the near future. Not just academically, but
para academically also, our girls proved to be wonder women in
their respective fields. At the Zonal Youth and Heritage
Festival, our talented Mademoiselles made their mark by
garnering twenty two prizes in various denominations.
All these accolades and laurels are the
blessings of Almighty God. I bow my head in reverence and pray
to the Supreme Divine Power to continue to shower His choicest
blessing on us. Here, I would like to express my heartfelt
gratitude to S. Gurbir Singh Ji, President, GNET for his
incessant guidance, support and motivation. Last but not the
least, I appreciate the efforts of the teaching and non
teaching faculty for creating a perfect ambience for imparting
education which is capable of burning about a series of human
enfoldments necessary for a life long education.
