FELICITATION TO THE PRINCIPAL
 

The College Principal was honoured at a function organized by the Department of Blood Transfusion & Medicine, DMC & H, Ludhiana on 1st October, 2012 for the prodigious role she has performed in Blood Donation Camps that has helped in saving the lives of many. Appreciating the consistent participation of the college students in blood donation, a special award for the recognition of motivation and persuasion was presented to the Principal at this function.

Principal Dr. Charanjit K. Mahal along with the faculty members of Physical Education Department were honoured on 25th March, 2013 at Panjab University, Chandigarh in Annual Prize Distribution Function for the exemplary sports achievements of the College.

Lone Judoka Garima Chaudhary, a student of MA-1 (Sociology) represented India in London Olympics 2012 in 63kg. wt. category. Before reaching the grand platform, she brought glory to bay by clinching a Gold Medal at South Asian Games in 2006, represented India at the coveted Asian Games held in China in 2010, won a Gold Medal at Martial Arts Games in 2011.

In recognition of the commendable accomplishment Principal Dr. Charanjit K. Mahal presented a cash reward of Rs. One lac to the adroit judoka. She was also honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- by Panjab University, Chandigarh at Annual Prize Distribution Function on 25 March, 2013.

The illustrious maidens of the college continued with the winning spree and proved their stellar by showcasing exuberant performances in co-curricular activities throughout the session. This session the agile girls of the college outnumbered others at the Punjab University Inter-Zonal and Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival wherein 60 and 15 industrious students clinched the first three positions respectively.

College Wrestlers won the PU Wrestling Championship held from 30th -31st November, 2012 by winning 3 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal and 2 Bronze Medals.

College Athletics team won the Panjab University Athletics Championship for the second year consecutively with a huge margin by wining 11 Gold and 1 Bronze Medal held at Panjab University, Chandigarh from 7th – 10th December, 2012. The college athletes got selected to represent Panjab University in All India Inter-University Athletic Championship held at Kalyani University, West Bengal from 22nd – 25th January, 2013.

In view of the state of ragging incidents in the country, an Anti-Ragging Cell has been formed that consistently makes efforts to maintain cordial and harmonious environment in the college campus.

Realizing the urgent need of the hour, an Eve Teasing Cell has also been formed to prevent any molestation of the innocuous girls of the college. The Cell organizes awareness campaign in the campus on regular basis to fight eve teasing.
