College Achievements

HIGHLIGHTS

From the Principal™s Desk

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,

is our destined end or way;

but to act, that each tomorrow,

brings us farther than today.

       H.W. Longfellow

Inculcating the above said thought of H.W. Longfellow, we “ the members of Guru Nanak Girls College, always strive for a better tomorrow...where we hope to scale newer heights, set new records and achieve the unachievable. It is said success is counted sweetest by those who never succeed, but success at GNGC, becomes an ideogram of unlimited dreams. That is why, Guru Nanak Girls College, apart from setting new records, is perhaps the only College that surpasses its own records. A proof of it is, a leap in number of university positions from 44 last session to an enormous 102 this session. Post Graduate Department of Sociology, this year, stole the show, by capturing first 11 university positions in M.A.-I and 5 in MA-II annual examinations. On the same lines, are walking the Post Graduate Departments of English, Political Science and History, which were able to clinch five, eleven and nine university positions respectively. Four and one top university positions were clinched by the students of MA-I (Punjabi) and MA-II (Punjabi) respectively; while, the students of PG Diploma in Mass Communication grabbed seven top university positions. The achievements of the first batch of M.B.E. will surely boost up the spirits of the students as well as the faculty, as this batch took hold of first, third and sixth university position, and the students of M.B.E.-II Semester did not lag behind as they too clinched first, fourth, sixth & tenth university position. Apart from this, the diligent students of our College also made their mark in grabbing the university positions, as the students of M.Com. (3rd Semester), M.Com. (4th Semester), M.Sc. (IT- 3rd Semester), PGDPM&LW (1st Semester), PGDPM&LW (2nd Semester) BCA-II, BBA-I, BBA-III, B.Sc.-I (Fashion Designing), B.Sc.-II (Fashion Designing) and B.Sc.-I (Bioinformatics) brought home as many as forty two positions.

There would be no exaggeration, if I say that the credit of all these achievements goes to S. Gurbir Singh, President, Guru Nanak Girls College, who regularly keeps on motivating us for promoting the standards of education and working for the cause of education. I also appreciate the efforts of the dedicated and competent faculty members who leave no stone unturned in motivating and guiding the students. I can always feel the hand of Almighty God on our heads, because without His blessings even the achievable could have transcended into the unachievable.

Principal (Dr.) Charanjit K. Mahal
